The work begins before choosing a channel

Jumping straight to Reels, an ad account or a landing page can create many actions without shared logic. First, understand the problem the product solves, who makes the decision and why a familiar option may be stronger than the new offer.

Only then does it make sense to choose a format. Sometimes a website is needed, sometimes a series of useful posts. Sometimes the honest conclusion is to improve the offer first and postpone advertising.

Five parts of a digital marketer's work

  1. Context. Business, product, market, competitors and constraints.
  2. Audience. Not just age, but the choice situation, motivations, doubts and criteria.
  3. Offer. Positioning, offer, arguments and next step.
  4. Channel system. Content, advertising, website, email or other touchpoints.
  5. Data. What happened after launch and what next conclusion is justified.

How does a marketer differ from an SMM specialist and copywriter?

A marketer owns the overall promotion logic. An SMM specialist builds the social presence. A copywriter turns meaning into clear copy. One person may cover these roles in a small project, but their tasks should not be confused.

My professional position: first define what we are doing and why. Only then assess how well it was executed.
